Client Overview: Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF)
The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) is Africa’s largest pension fund, serving over 1.2 million active members and over 450,000 pensioners and beneficiaries. The Fund is responsible for managing and administering pensions and related benefits for South African government employees.
In 2019, Seventynine Digital won the contract to design, host, and support the GEPF website. We successfully maintained and hosted the platform on our secure cloud infrastructure until 2025. In 2024, we were once again entrusted with the redesign of the GEPF website. The newly revamped website was launched in March 2025, offering a more modern, user-friendly experience aligned with GEPF’s commitment to transparency and accessibility. We continue to provide hosting, technical support, and ongoing maintenance for the new website on our robust cloud infrastructure.
Our Client’s Challenge
The GEPF required a modern, secure, and accessible digital platform that could effectively serve its large and diverse member base, including active government employees, pensioners, and beneficiaries. The previous website had become outdated in terms of design, user experience, and technical functionality. GEPF needed a solution that would improve user navigation, ensure mobile responsiveness, strengthen cybersecurity, and support high volumes of traffic and content updates while remaining compliant with government standards.

- Enhanced Security: We implemented advanced cybersecurity measures, including SSL encryption, regular security updates, and threat monitoring, to safeguard sensitive user data.
- Content Management and Support: A flexible content management system was integrated to allow the GEPF team to easily manage updates, with ongoing technical support and maintenance provided by our team.
